What Are The Requirements For Food Packaging Bags

The requirements for food packaging bags mainly include material safety, packaging design, production standards, usage restrictions, and environmental protection requirements. ‌‌

Material safety: Food packaging bags must use non-toxic and clean materials, such as food grade plastic, to ensure that harmful substances do not precipitate and contaminate food. Ordinary PE plastic bags are not suitable for storing hot food or meat because their heat resistance is not strong, and they may swell and decompose when in contact with fats and oils.

Packaging design: The design of packaging bags should be arranged reasonably to avoid cross contamination between processed food and direct entry food, as well as between raw materials and finished products. The packaging bag should have good sealing to prevent food contamination and meet special requirements such as temperature and humidity required to ensure food safety.

Production standard: Plastic packaging bags that come into direct contact with food are certified products and must meet production conditions and obtain the relevant industrial product production license. The packaging bag should be labeled with the production license mark and number to ensure its quality and safety.

Usage restrictions: Colored plastic bags may contain harmful ingredients such as benzo [a] pyrene, and direct consumption of food in colored plastic bags should be avoided. In addition, food should not be packaged in plastic bags that are soft to the touch and do not have "QS" or "production license" labels, as these plastic bags are sensitive to oil and heat and may release harmful substances.

Environmental requirements: Food packaging bags should comply with environmental standards and avoid using materials that are harmful to the environment. With the increasing awareness of environmental protection, more and more food packaging bags are using biodegradable materials to reduce pollution to the environment.
